If your blog isn’t performing the way that it should or the way that you want it to perform, then that means something is holding back your blog from reaching it’s success.
Whatever is holding back your blog is going to become the weak spot and if you don’t do something quickly, then your blog could end up on the other side of the Internet where nobody visits.
In order to correct this problem, you first have to stand at a distance and inspect your blog from the inside out. Knowing what makes your blog weak and know how to correct it is the only way you will reach success.
Here are some great tips that you can use to pin point your blog’s weakness and the steps you can take to correct them.
Ask Questions/ Launch A Poll
Before or after you make changes to your blog, be sure to ask your visitors questions what they think about the change.
Note from Ana: This is a great time to ask you, my readers, what you think of my new blog changes. Anything bothers you? Let me know in comments!
Launching a poll is another great way to go at it.
If you had made some changes, then a poll is the best way to see what that majority of your blog visitors prefer. If you know what percentage of your blog readers prefer option A to B, then you have to stick with option A – obviously.
Pleasing the majority of your blog visitors will keep them coming back to your blog.
So asking questions and using a poll is a wonderful way to do it.
Ask For Reviews Of Your Blog
You might not see the weaknesses that are affecting your blog, but others will and the best way to get a firm hold of your weak point and add some strength to it is to ask for someone to review your blog.
Their are lots of great bloggers and webmasters out there that are really successful online and know what they are doing. Why not contact one of them and ask them to review your blog and thus find out what you can do you to make it better.
When first I started making sites, I used WebsiteBabble forums where you can communicate with other webmasters. If I wanted some of the members there to review my site, all I had to do was to find the correct category for site reviews and kindly ask the members there what they think of my site.
So asking for reviews by direct contact or on forums in a similar niche will help you greatly to find your blog’s weaknesses.
Compare Your Blog With Others
When I just started out blogging, I used to visit other blogs to compare them to my blog to determine what makes this blog better than mine.
Comparing your blog to others can be an eye opener to help you see your blog flaws, such as the types of widget this blog has that you don’t or unused widgets that you can remove from your blog.
Examine blogs related to your niche that are more successful and see what changes you can make to your blog.
Poor Content Equals No Comments
This is a weakness that thousands of blogs suffer from – poor content.
This problem is easily cured, but challenging and, obviously has nothing to do with the blog – the blog owner is to be blamed for this one. If the blog owner doesn’t write strong quality content, then the blog is going to be useless to the potential readers.
We all know that poor content results in no blog comments.
In order to correct this problem, the blog owner has to put out the effort needed to become a better writer by doing lots of research before writing blog posts.
Too Many Banner Ads
Making money is on everybody’s agenda these days.
But as a blogger or a site owner, do you realize you can create a weakness for your blog by putting too many banner ads on your blog?
Yes you can. Visitors hate to be bombarded with banners flashing in front of their eyes on every page that they click.
If you are going to place banners on your blog, make sure they are neatly placed and not too big, taking up all the page. Also banners related to your niche are the best ones to have on your blog.

You Fail To Go for SEO Traffic
Another weakness that your blog can have is faiingl to target search engine traffic. Some people will create a blog and not do simple things like submitting a sitemap to Google or not having the correct SEO plugins installed on their blog.
Search engines are a great way of getting targeted traffic to your blog because this is really important for your blogging success.

Your Blog Design Is Plain Boring
The blog design can be a huge weakness.
Some new bloggers often get confused as to what theme to choose for their blog. This design or that design: they get confused when they stumble upon a free wordpress theme site.
You know what I would recommend for you?
You might say it cost too much, but it is worth it. With the this theme, you don’t have to know any programming language to use it, plus you can customize it to your liking in many different ways.
Note from Ana: as you might know, Thesis theme is what I use for Traffic Generation Cafe.
The Niche Isn’t Right For You
Many bloggers end up in the wrong niche because they see a lot of people gravitating towards it.
Not every niche is right for everybody. If you force yourself into a niche, then the niche is going to force you out of it.
The best way to find the right niche is to do what you passion and knowledge for.
Don’t blog about a niche that you don’t know anything about because it will be harder for you to write blog posts and frustrating when you have no idea as to what you are going to blog about next.
So stick with what you love and make it your niche, you will be more successful that way.
Your Blog Doesn’t Focus On Any One Niche
Trying to cover a little bit of everything is never a good idea.
It’s best to stay focus on one niche and you won’t have to deal with the problem of covering too wide of a topic.
What steps have you taken to correct the weaknesses of your blog?
